Install wide glide front end sportster


















All that banging of metal together has to scrape off the plating. I think the Dyna series needs a face lift from the liquid tube front ends. The springer is great but not the oval tubes. Go for it…. Looking for a springer for my Sportster I wonder if it would work out with the fat front tire. Any chance to see this on a Dyna? The 21" front wheel from Harley came with either a 2. The wider tire will give slightly improved handling and a bit more stability.

If you like to throw you bike into a corner, a 19" wheel will handle better than a 21" wheel. If you are running a front fender with either the 19" or 21" wheel, several of the aftermarket kits include fender spacers to permit the use of your stock fender.

Harley Sportsters had 35mm tubes up until and then upgraded to 39mm tubes. The best and easiest way is to buy an aftermarket kit. These will contain all the needed parts, including triple trees, spacers, etc.

Then it is a simple bolt-on. This kit includes billet aluminum chromed triple trees, front axle, axle spacers, rotor spacer, and internal fork stop. The Wide Glide front end that you see in the picture is a pre single-disc with 41mm fork tubes, H-D part c.

The '80' tells it is a year beginning manufacture part, but remember that Harley puts production numbers on a lot of parts that aren't actual part numbers. I installed a Wide Glide front end on my Harley Servi-car. It will allow me to run a front disc brake versus the original drum brake.

The front tire is a 21". Call us: You can run wide glide wheels if different spacers are used. You will need to use a springer type brake caliper to complete the install. The best and easiest way is to buy an aftermarket kit. These will contain all the needed parts, including triple trees, spacers, etc. Then it is a simple bolt-on. It will fit 39 mm, only difference is the adjustable forks and dual disks brakes.
